Mrs. Maxim de Winter looks back on her time at Manderley where she tries to uncover the secrets of Maxim's late wife, Rebecca. She must gain the respect of the menacing housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers, while trying to keep her husband, Maxim, happy and run a household. Rebecca is a suspenseful and unpredictable novel that is impossible to put down. This wonderfully written book is very detailed, but so nail-biting that it is never boring. I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves romance, anticipation, and mysteries. 4/9/2011 by Madi T. If you This book will clutch a reader's attention as soon as they pick it up. It has suspenseful scenes that will make the reader constantly want more; Rebecca is Maxim's former wife who was drowned in a sailing accident. Maxim's newest wife must accustom herself to a new home called Manderley; a formal living style has to be learned with a head house servant named Mrs. Danvers. However, Mrs. Danvers immediately takes a disliking towards the new wife which makes living there quite uncomfortable. Later in the story, an appalling discovery is made about Rebecca's death. Was it an accident, suicide, or perhaps even murder? If you like romance and suspense, you will love this book. Want to submit a review? Click here.
