Reviews 4/18/2011 by Lauren W. * * * * * This book was the first book I have ever read by this author. I was really impressed by this book because it showed a true romance story at heart. This book is about a girl named Finnula Crais. She is a very strong hearted girl who can take care of herself. She sets off to help her sister Mellana who has gotten herself into a pickle. Finnula takes charge and sets off to save her sister, which ends in an ironic romantic twist. This book would be best suited for people who enjoy books by Nicholas Sparks 4/7/2011 by Karleigh L. If you like a little romance and mystery mixed together, this is the book to read. I don't like books too girly, but this book was amazing. Finnula is a miller's daughter, one of six, whose sister found herself pregnant and spent all her money so she can't get a husband like she needs. Apparently, the thing for girls to do is kidnap a young man and then make the family pay. It sounds so incredible that it MUST be true. So Finnula sets out to kidnap a man for her sister. She spies a knight recently back from the crusades in town. Deciding that this knight is the perfect prey, Finnula manages to catch him unawares and capture him. Hugo Fitzstephen, the new Earl, can't really believe his good fortune. Now he is being held captive by a gorgeous girl. Hugo knows he can easily extricate himself but finds being captive quite entertaining. Finnula's perfectness, though, is offset by Hugo's loutishness. I kind of appreciated the imperfection of Hugo as a traditional romance hero. Want to submit a review? Click here.
